I'm Liz Rubenic! I'm an Illinois Licensed Substitute Teacher and a former Study Skills Lab Teacher at Wheaton Academy. I have been a private tutor for 12 years. I have a BA in Psychology from North Central College with an emphasis in the psychology of learning and child development. Studying education and the psychology of learning inspired me to develop personalized tutoring and mentorship plans that bring students academic success!
I tutor all ages, grade levels, subjects, instrumental and voice, and learning styles for students online as well as in the St. Charles, Geneva, Wheaton, and South Elgin, Illinois area. Helping your student achieve academic and personal goals is my speciality. Learning is a lifelong endeavor, and the skills learned will carry into your student's everyday life!
Student Teacher Ratio of 1:1
One-on-one personalized lessons are customized to your student's learning style. Whether working simultaneously on several classes throughout the year, completing summer maintenance learning, making edits on a term paper, or prepping for a final exam, the partnership developed with your student will ensure academic growth!
Does your student learn best in the quiet of a library or the comfort of an aroma filled coffee house? Do they need an online session right away before a big exam? Maybe they prefer learning in the comfort of their own home. Wherever the location, we will come to you! In addition to fostering learning we pride ourselves on creating a fun, effective, and safe learning environment. We follow COVID-19 precautions and Zoom VideoChat options are also available.
Because learning and managing a school environment can be challenging, private tutoring sometimes involves more than simply teaching. We care about our students as whole people, and provide support and mentorship as needed. Watching them succeed brings us joy. Let's learn together!
